REFLECTION
Experiences
From the beginning of this course, I knew I was about to learn a lot about design. I have read about what typography is and actually tried to learn about it before but taking this module has opened my eyes to a more in-depth view of typography. At first, I actually thought Mr Vinod would be a strict lecturer but later on, I found out he was only doing this for us. Pushing us to do our best if not even better. Other than that, this course has taken a toll on me there were times where I felt like I couldn't understand the assignments or I wanted to give up but because of our lecturers, I didn't. One word to describe this module overall is probably bonkers.
Observations
I was surprised at how much I grew during the 14 weeks. Back then if you asked me about typography I would tell you it's about just about text. Now I know that it is so much more than that, I learned how to appreciate and gain a deeper understanding of typography, now all I see is around me are different typefaces. I also understand that design is not just about graphic elements but typography too.
Findings
There is still so much more for me to learn as a designer. I still have a long way to go to grasp the subject properly. Besides that, I think that people should learn about typography to understand the differences between good and bad typography and to understand what is visually pleasing and what is not. The criticism gave by Mr Vinod and Mr Shamsul really helped me to improve more than I thought I could. Other than that, at the beginning of the semester I was not expecting to write an e-blog since I've not written one before, I was not used to writing so much at one time but thankfully after a few weeks I have gotten used to it. Unfortunately, having to update your e-blog while simultaneously doing your work on time was hard for me to balance until this today. I am quite surprised at how I managed to complete both on time.
